Lawyers for Human Rights Stellenbosch office seeks two candidate attorneys  

 

 

Requirements  A LLB graduate – seeking Articles of Clerkship, for duration of 1 year;·         Preferably a candidate who has completed his/her School for Legal Practice;·         Will be legible to register his/her articles with the Cape Law Society·         English and Afrikaans speaking;·         A valid Driver’s License·         Ability to learn, follow supervisory instructions, diligent, meet deadlines & apply the law·         Interpersonal / Communicative skills in being enabled to interact with staff, role players, stake holders and clients. ·         Travel·         Computer skills         Responsibilities  
  • Consultation with clients, role players and relevant stake holders
  • Legal Representation & Enforcement of rights of farm workers and/or rural dwellers
  • Implementation of the Activities of the Security of Farm Workers Project and/or Lawyers For Human Rights
  • Development of Narrative Reports
  • And any other tasks and/or responsibilities designated by the Manager, Stellenbosch, Project Co-Ordinator of SFP and/or National Director of Lawyers For Human Rights
